After our Slovenian player Alen Omic loaned to Unicaja Malaga of Spain we bolstered the frontcourt with American player Alex Kirk.
Alex Kirk was born in 1991, he is 2,13 meters tall and plays in the centre position.
After graduating from New Mexico’s Los Alamos High School in 2010, Kirk started New Mexico University the same season. On his third year in the university he attracted attention with his 12,1 points and 8,1 rebound averages, with the sparkling performance he was one of the best defenders in Mountain West Conference and he was chosen in to all second team. In the summer of 2013 Kirk played in American University National Team and university games in Russia’s Kazan City, he improved statistics of NCAA in the same year and scored 13,2 points, 8,7 rebounds and 2,7 blocks in average and was chosen for best defense team and found a place for himself in the all third team.
Graduated from the university in 2014 Alex Kirk started playing in NBA Summer League in Cleveland Cavaliers team and Cavaliers signed a contract with Kirk in August 11, 2014. Going to NBDL’s Canton Charge team in the season, Alex played in 46 matches in 2014-15 and set his scores to 12,5 points, 6,5 rebounds and 1,1 blocks in average. Kirk was transferred to Italy’s Pistoia Basket team to live overseas experience in August 15, 2015. In there he played 33 matches and set his scored to 16,3 points and 7,6 rebounds in average per game and helped the team to go to play-offs. In NBA Summer League of 2016 he played in San Antonio Spurs against Utah. Afterwards he played in the team Toronto Raptors in the Las Vegas matches and by July 29, 2016 he was transferred to China’s Long-Lions team. He played 6 matches and set his scores to 17,2 points, 9,5 rebounds, 1,2 assists and 2,0 blocks in average per game before he left the Chinese team in November 15.
Anadolu Efes signed the contract until the end of the season with Alex Kirk.
