We were guests of Serbia's Red Star mts team in the 34th-week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague and we lost the match 85-93. The first half of the match, which had taken place at the Aleksandar Nikolic Sports Hall ended with a 40-40 tie.
While our team started with Larkin, Simon, Anderson, Moerman, and Dunston starting five, we were ahead 4-2 in the first minute with Larkin and Anderson's points. After Anderson's points, we got the 14-8 lead at 3:30 with three-pointers from Moerman and Larkin. Elijah contributed with five points while Simon and Dunston's found four points each, and we increased the lead to 11 points in the seventh minute: 27-16. In the remaining time, we had a slam dunk with Dunston and we were ahead 29-21 in the first 10 minutes of the game. We started the second period with Singleton's three-pointer and the score was 32-23 in the 11th minute. With Petrusev's hit, the score was 34-25 at 12:30, but we couldn't find a point in the next two minutes and the game was tied at 14:30: 34-34. After this score, we scored points with Simon and Pleiss and we were ahead 40-37 in the 17th minute. We could not find a way to score in the remaining part and the first half of the match ended with a 40-40 tie.
When the score was 40-46 in the first 1:30 minutes of the second half, coach Ergin Ataman took a time-out. We scored five points with Anderson on the return from the timeout, and the 23rd minute was passed with a score of 45-49. After the score came to 51-54 at 24:30 with the points of Larkin and Dunston, the score was 51-61 in the 26th minute and coach Ergin Ataman took another time-out. After the timeout, we found an 8-0 run with Anderson, Singleton, and Moerman and reduced the gap to two points in the 29th minute: 59-61. After Larkin's three-pointer in the last second of the third quarter, we were behind 62-65 in the last 10 minutes of the game. Our first points in the final period came from Elijah and Pleiss, and we were up 66-65 in the 31st minute. Singleton turned Pleiss' defensive rebound into a stylish slam dunk basket and gave the opponent a timeout in the 32nd minute: 68-65. After the timeout, Singleton also hit a three-pointer and at 33:30 we made the score 71-70. After Pleiss's points, we hit Dunston and Larkin and were ahead 80-74 in the 35th minute. With the points from Dunston and Larkin, we were ahead 84-82 in the 37th minute. While the score was 84-89 in the last 50 seconds of the match, we scored a point with Larkin in the remaining time and we were defeated 85-93.
