The press conference featuring Dusan Ivkovic, who will be coaching Anadolu Efes for two years starting from the 2014-15 season, and Tuncay Özilhan, President of Anadolu Efes Sports Club, took place today (Tuesday, June 3).
The conference, held at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti, was participated by a number of reporters as well as Anadolu Efes General Director Engin Özerhun and other managers.
At the press conference, held to announce Anadolu Efes’s signing of Dusan Ivkovic, Anadolu Efes Sports Club President Tuncay Özilhan said: “As Anadolu Efes, we have been serving the Turkish basketball for 38 years. We have the highest number of championships in the Turkish Basketball League. We are proud to have become the first team to win a European Cup for Turkey in professional sports. And today, I’d like to share my gratitude for entrusting a very important coach to serve Turkish basketball. With our new coach Ivkovic, we will create a younger team with long term plans in mind.”
Noting that he is proud to be coaching a long-standing team like Anadolu Efes which is a reference club in Europe, Dusan Ivkovic added: “As Mr. Özilhan said, we attach great importance to young players. We will work hard to grow young players in the team and to enable these young players to contribute to Anadolu Efes and Turkish basketball. Anadolu Efes aims high and has a traditional presence in the Euroleague. The club adds value to basketball. And I will try my best to help achieve these elevated objectives. The team already has young stars. I am very fortunate in this aspect. We would like to create a team by mixing our young players with foreign veterans who have experiences in Euroleague. “We will work hard to become a top-tier team...”
