Defeated by Fenerbahçe Beko 71-80 in the 2nd-week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts post-game:
“After our good start in the first quarter, we played a bad basketball. We almost stopped playing the match, especially within the second quarter. There is a score of 12-26 in that quarter, we failed to respond to Fenerbahçe’s consecutive points, missed shots. Both teams played a weird basketball within the third and the fourth quarters, I think both teams failed to play good basketball in those quarters, we found a chance to bring down the point difference with a full-court press. Then we’ve made mistakes again. Unfortunately, our players’ personal performances were in a bad shape apart from Simon and Moerman. We’ve played badly. I congratulate Fenerbahçe Beko for winning against us. Larkin’s treatment continues. He will return by 25th of October and we plan for him to be ready for the Olympiacos match on 30th October.”
