Efes refuses to give in: 75-72.

Hosting Real Madrid in the third match of the Euroleague play-off round, Anadolu Efes won the game 75-72. Anadolu Efes was ahead 32-30 at the halftime of the match, played at Abdi İpekçi Arena.

With this result, Anadolu Efes is trailing 2-1 in the series. The fourth match of the series will be played at Abdi İpekçi Arena at 8.00 PM on Thursday, April 23rd.

Starting the match with Draper, Birkan, Perperoglou, Saric and Lasme, Anadolu Efes got its first field goal by Birkan. Leading 4-2 passing through the third minute with Lasme’s field goal from the paint, Efes had a layup by Saric, trailing 7-6 at the TV timeout at 5.30. With Heurtel and Krstic subbed in after the timeout, Krstic got the field goal in his first attempt: 8-10. As Heurtel hit his first three point attempt, Efes was trailing 12-11 in the seventh minute. When Efes was trailing 19-11 with 1.20 to play in the quarter, Ivkovic called a timeout. Scoring four points with Cedi and Krstic within the remaining duration after the timeout, Efes was trailing 20-15 at the end of the first 10 minutes of the game. Starting the second quarter with Perperoglou’s three pointer, Efes was trailing 22-18 in the 11th minute. When Krstic grabbed the defensive rebound and Janning got the field goal, the margin was down to two points in the 12th minute: 20-22. Bringing the scoring margin back to one point with Krstic’s consecutive field goals at 15.20, Efes had a three pointer by Saric, pulling ahead with 3.45 to play in the half: 28-26. Cedi and Saric’s four points in the final minutes of the half helped Anadolu Efes towards a halftime score of 32-30.

In the second half, getting four points by Cedi and Heurtel from the foul line, Efes reclaimed the lead 36-35 at 22.30. Leading 38-35 with Krstic, Efes had a three point field goal by Janning, increasing the lead to six points in the 25th minute: 41-35. As Cedi responded to the opponent’s three pointer with his own, Efes was leading 44-38 in the 26th minute. Ahead 51-46 while heading into the final minute of the quarter after Janning’s consecutive points, Efes was helped by Lasme and Janning in scoring, leading by 10 points at the end of the third quarter: 56-46. Starting the final quarter with Janning’s three pointer, Efes stretched the lead to 13 points in the 32nd minute: 59-46. Ahead 59-54 in the 34th minute following the opponent’s scoring run, Efes got a three pointer by Heurtel, leading 62-54 at 34.30. Leading 62-59 while heading into the last 4.40, Anadolu Efes was helped by Krstic in scoring, ahead 68-61 with 2.10 to play. With the score 68-67 with 26 seconds to play, Ivkovic called a timeout. Getting two free throws each by Draper and Perperoglou along with a buzzer-beating three point field goal by Janning, Anadolu Efes left the game victorious 75-72.
