Defeating Darüşşafaka 72-68 at the 10th week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 Group E, Anadolu Efes Coach Dusan Ivkovic commented at the post-game press conference:
“It was a very challenging match. This game was really important for both teams. On our side, we had lost our last four matches in the Euroleague. And this match was our opportunity to step up. On the other side, Darüşşafaka was in good shape after a few wins in the Euroleague. I believe we deserved to win this game. We were the dominant side in the match throughout the whole game. We had the first half under control, and we allowed 26 points only at the end of the half. Our guards helped us a lot in terms of controlling the game. We didn’t have Jon Diebler in our roster today. Instead, we included Johnson, a rookie from our feeder team Pertevniyal, and he did a very good job. We had some problems in the second half. My lads had a lack of concentration. We made turnovers in the final two minutes. Turnovers are part of this game, I know. However, Wilbekin had five points following our turnovers. We are now in a better shape. We will start preparing for our match against Beşiktaş at the Spor Toto Basketball League as good as possible...”
Showcasing the best performance for Anadolu Efes with an index score of 24, Thomas Heurtel also stated his thoughts: “We won the match. It was a crucial match from our standpoint. We have four games left. They were good on defense in the final moments of the game, but we played well and managed to win.”
