Defeated 82-91 on the road by the Serbian side Crvena Zvezda at the eighth week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 Group E, Anadolu Efes Coach Dusan Ivkovic commented at the post-game press conference:
“This match was really important for both teams. We played two very different halves. We played big on defense in the first half, but our second half was a disaster in which we allowed 53 points to the opponent. Early in the second half, they had seven easy field goals from transition, conveniently made possible by our mistakes, which caused us to lose our grip. We have a good schedule in the remaining six weeks, and I am pretty optimistic.”
Showcasing the best performance for Anadolu Efes with an index score of 27, Dario Saric also stated his thoughts: “It is hard to find the right words. We showcased one of our best performances in the first half, yet we failed to stop Crvena Zvezda’s momentum in the second half. A big team must know how to do this. Sometimes, a loss can be a great lesson and I believe that Anadolu Efes will play better in the upcoming matches. Marko Guduric was simply fantastic in the final quarter. Crvena Zvezda has a good chemistry with young prospects and veterans.”
