Defeating the Spanish side Unicaja Malaga 74-70 at the second week match of Euroleague Top 16, Anadolu Efes Coach Dusan Ivkovic commented on the post-game press conference:
“It was a very interesting game today. In the first half, Anadolu Efes didn’t play up to its name and failed to react to the game. We are the best-defending team in the Euroleague, but we were awful today on defense in the first half. Unicaja Malaga was faster and better than us in the first 20 minutes. They had 49 points, 65% field goal percentage and seven accurate three-pointers in the first half. Yet after the first half, we had our best second-half performance so far. We only allowed 21 points in the second half, played fast and got a lot of transition points. It was looking almost impossible to make a comeback after the first half, but my players displayed their courage, ability and character. We are in a very challenging group in the Top 16. We can’t afford to play a first half like that in the following matches. Right now, we have to prepare well for the match against CSKA Moscow...”
