Ataman: ''We’ve raised the point difference in the final quarter…”

Defeating Teksüt Bandırma 83-72 in the 18th-week match of ING Basketball Super League game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts post-game:

“First of all, Teksüt Bandırma is one of the best teams in the league that plays the best basketball and organizes well. We’ve played with all units today, well, we’ve played with all of our players that have the best physical shape and raised the point difference in the final quarter. This is because they defend well, organize their fastbreaks well and they are a tough team to beat. Of course, we are tired. It is not easy to play not even 48 hours later and coming from an away game. But this is the fixture. We will go to Moscow tomorrow and play against CSKA Moscow. We will return on Wednesday and play against Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday. Though the league holds importance for us as well and that is why we’ve forced the game until the end today. I congratulate Teksüt Bandırma. They play good basketball, and they play tough. We’ve managed to win in the final quarter with our players’ extraordinary talents. Larkin’s double-team and Pleiss’s baskets were crucial on the breaking points. Singleton’s shots and Doğuş’s contribution to defense were the breaking points. James Anderson’s shots, especially against the defense, were important as well. Teksüt Bandırma is one of the teams that close in. You can only find one player idle, and that player must score. James Anderson scored and this is the reason we’ve managed to win.”
