Playing against Valencia in the 27th-week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman states his thoughts post-game:
"There would’ve been a different result at the end of the match, but the match was head-to-head. It was an important match for us. Valencia is a dangerous team. They play a good and a quite different basketball for the rival. Their bigs Dubljevic and Tobey play outside and Kalinic plays inside. He scored 10 assists against Zenit in their last Euroleague match. It was a tough job to stop them, but we’ve managed that towards the middle of the third quarter. After starting the second quarter badly we have called a time-out and changed our strategy. We changed some of our matches on defense and strategy, and we were successful. Scoring 18 three-pointers on offense broke the club record but we could’ve done more. We’ve missed easy shots in the first half. It was important to find these shots, though. We’ve shared the ball well, and after Beaubois and Simon started to score our self-confidence returned, and won the match. We will prepare for the CSKA Moscow match that we will play on Tuesday now.”
