Defeated by Greece’s Olympiacos team 61-58 in the 14th-week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:
“We did not start well and we missed shots and gave away easy baskets. Then we took control of the game after the fırst quarter. In the second, third and fourth quarters we dominated the game and played excellent defense. Our strategy worked tonight. Especially in the second half, we had a great defense. But we missed a lot of fast breaks, a lot of easy layups. We attempted 20 three-point shots and 15 of those were correct shots. Afterward, we missed open shots, we gave some stupid offensive rebounds after free throws. I don’t know if the fouls were actual fouls, though. I complained about the decision of the referee as well, I will look into it again, it was critical. Then everybody missed, Spanoulis came to the game, he made two three-pointers and they won. Tonight Anadolu Efes played with hustle, our fans were great and it was bad luck that we lost.”
