Ergin Ataman, head coach of Anadolu Efes, who defeated Fenerbahçe Beko by 84-79 in the 28th week of Turkish Airlines Euroleague shared his views as follows:
"It was a very important game for us. We needed to win this game, both in terms of being a derby and in terms of qualifying. We played perfectly for 32 minutes. We controlled the game. We always made good choices on offense. We played excellent defense, especially in the first half. We started well in the last quarter as well. We were leading by 16 points in the last eight minutes, but then we stopped. We started to make completely wrong decisions on offense, our game discipline had broken, we started shooting from eight meters. We also stopped defending. We gave our opponent some chances to penetrate with Şehmus and Pierre. They scored 31 points in the last quarter on a day when we had an excellent defense. I said it in the locker room after the game. Our performance was excellent until the last eight minutes but the way we played in those last eight minutes is unacceptable to me. We spent all our credit for making mistakes like these at the beginning of the season. We need to be more careful in the upcoming matches on the path to the championship."
