Anadolu Efes has achieved a historic success again winning the Gold Award in One Team Awards where Turkish Airlines EuroLeague's corporate social responsibility program One Team was evaluated and Anadolu Efes qualified for the finale for the third consecutive time.
Anadolu Efes won the award through the cooperation with the Special Olympics Turkey, and Beylikdüzü Municipality and Turkish Sports Writers Association's support. This award is the first One Team Gold Award in Turkish Basketball History. Anadolu Efes Sports Club General Director Alper Yılmaz expressed his thoughts on receiving the gold award in corporate social responsibility project saying that they are very proud.
Like the success they show in sports, Anadolu Efes represents our country in international organizations with social responsibility projects. Anadolu Efes won the One Team Gold Award in the competition that 40 teams’ projects evaluated from Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and EuroCup leagues.
The One Team Gold Award-winning project fulfilled through the cooperation of Anadolu Efes Sports Club and Special Olympics Turkey. Receiving the support of Beylikdüzü Municipality and Turkish Sports Writers Association, 16 special sportsmen participated in the project aged between 15 and 22.
The exercises that were 8 weeks long and contributed to the personal and social developments of the participants took place in Beylikdüzü Aydın Örs Sports Hall. Anadolu Efes Sports Club One Team Ambassador Sertaç Şanslı came together with the special sportsmen, and through the project communication, socializing, team-work, sharing and gaining the habit of exercising training took place.
The One Team project’s instructors were Anadolu Efes Sports Club One Team, Special Olympics Turkey and Beylikdüzü Municipality coaches.
Anadolu Efes Sports Club’s General Director Alper Yılmaz shared his thoughts on the One Team project and the award:
“We, as Anadolu Efes Sports Club, are thrilled to be a part of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague corporate social responsibility program One Team and touch the lives of the participants every year. We have contributed to the many participants' development to date.
We are proud to win the One Team Award for the first time in our history and to win another award for Turkey through EuroLeague organization that holds great importance. Therefore, we are thankful to especially Special Olympics Turkey, Beylikdüzü Municipality, Turkish Sports Writers Association, and everyone who contributed to the project.
Also, we congratulate Tofaş Sports Club who won the Bronze Award of One Team Awards.”
Anadolu Efes Sports Club will continue to support the different segments of society through the social responsibility projects in the season of 2019-2020 and the following seasons.
