We were guests of Pınar Karşıyaka in the third game of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League play-off final and we won the game 83-74. We finished the first half of the match, which was played at the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Karşıyaka Sports Hall, ahead by 48-46.
After this score, we brought the situation to 3-0 in the series, and by reaching the championship in the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League in the 2022-23 season, we became the Basketball Super League champion for the 16th time.
While our team went into the game with Micic, Larkin, Elijah, M'Baye, and Pleiss starting five, our first points came from Larkin and we were ahead 5-0 in the second minute. After Elijah and Larkin's points, Pleiss also contributed to the score, bringing the score to 15-13 in the fifth minute. In this section, the score was 23-19 at 7:30 with eight points from Micic, and after M'Baye and Beaubois' points, we finished the first 10 minutes of the game ahead 28-27. When the score was 28-33 in the first two minutes of the second period, coach Ergin Ataman took a time-out. On the return from the time-out, we first tied the score with Beaubois' five points and Micic's three-pointer, then we took the lead again at 15:30 with Furkan's layup: 38-36. With Beaubois and Micic's points, the score was 46-44 at 18:30, while Larkin's layup determined the score of the first half: 48-46.
We started the second half with points from M'Baye and Larkin, leading 53-46 into the 22nd minute. With Micic's layup and Furkan's two hits on the foul line, our team made the score 57-49 in the 25th minute. With M'Baye's stylish dunk, the score was 59-52 in the 26th minute. We scored five more points with Micic in the last minute of the quarter, leading 64-63 into the last 10 minutes of the game. Our first points in the final period came from Larkin, behind the three-point line: 67-63. After Elijah's layup, we brought the score to 71-68 at 33:30 with Pleiss' slam dunk. While our team was trailing 71-73 in the last 3:15 minutes of the match, we made the score 77-74 in the last 1:30 minutes with Micic's two-pointer. Micic, who came to the foul line in the last 15 seconds of the match, scored both shots and brought the score to 79-74. We maintained our lead in the remaining part and won the match 83-74 after four points by M'Baye.
Our successful player, Vasilije Micic, was selected as the most successful player of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League Play-off Final series, while Amath M'Baye received the best dunk award with her follow-up dunk during the match.
