Anadolu Efes has signed Matt Janning, previously playing for the Italian side Montepaschi Siena. The 26-year-old player from the US stands at 193 cm tall, and plays at point guard and shooting guard.
Playing for Northeastern during his college career between 2006-2010, Janning was signed by the NBDL team Maine Red Claws in the 2010-11 season. Transferring to Rio Grande Valley Vipers from the same league in January 2011, Janning had his first experience in Europe at the start of the 2011-12 season with Italian Second League team Junior Casale. With his prolific performance there, the American moved to the Italian side Montepaschi Siena only a year later. Signed by the Croatian side Cibona Zagreb in the 2013-14 season, Janning moved back to Montepaschi Siena in January 2014.
Selected to the All-NCAA team in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, Matt Janning won the Italian League and the Italian Cup with Montepaschi Siena in the 2012-13 season.
Playing in 15 matches in the Euroleague in the previous season with Montepaschi Siena who was eliminated from the Euroleague in the first round and sustained its campaign in the Eurocup, Matt Janning had 9.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 22.21 minutes per game.
He had 9.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24.6 minutes per game within 17 matches at the Italian League.
