The Turkish basketball pioneer Anadolu Efes finished the 2018-2019 season of Turkish Airlines Euroleague in the second place. After defeating Fenerbahçe Beko 92-73 in the first match of Final Four that took place in Spain-Vitoria Gasteiz, Anadolu Efes finished the league on the second place after the match result against CSKA Moscow. While Anadolu Efes finished the Turkish Airlines Euroleague on the second place for the first time in its history, Anadolu Efes’s General Director Alper Yılmaz uttered that they are proud to represent our country with success on Europe’s highest basketball organization.
After finishing the regular season of Turkish Airlines Euroleague at the 4th place and eliminating FC Barcelona Lassa 3-2 in the playoff round, Anadolu Efes missed the championship of the season 2018-2019 of Turkish Airlines Euroleague in the final match.

Anadolu Efes defeated Fenerbahçe BEKO with a very successful game and 19 points difference and played against CSKA Moscow in the final match.
Anadolu Efes Sports Club’s general Director Alper Yılmaz shared his thoughts after losing the final match with the score 91-83 and finishing Euroleague in the second place for the first time in the Club’s history:
“We are leaving behind a very successful Euroleague season as Anadolu Efes Sports Club. We’ve represented our country with pride within Europe’s highest basketball organization. Even though we didn’t win the trophy, we’ve presented a team that basketball fans could follow with excitement and pride.
We would like to thank Anadolu Efes Sports Club President Mr. Tuncay Özilhan who provided this unforgettable season, to our coaches, players, club personnel, co-workers and of course, to all basketball fans. As Anadolu Efes Sports Club, we will continue to represent our country with success in international organizations within the following years.”
Anadolu Efes will continue its journey within Tahincioğlu Basketball Super League after Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four 2019, and the first match of the playoff will be played on Wednesday, 22 May 2019, against Banvit in Sinan Erdem Sports Arena.
Anadolu Efes holds the advantage of being the hosting team of the entire playoff matches our team will play since our team finished the regular season of Tahincioğlu Basketball Super League in the first place.
