We hosted Spain's Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz team in the 13th-week match of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague and we were defeated 78-83. We were ahead 46-36 in the first half of the match played at Sinan Erdem Dome.
While our team started the game with Micic, Beaubois, Elijah, Polonara, and Pleiss starting five, we were ahead 4-2 in the first minute with the points of Pleiss and Micic duo. After Beaubois' three-pointer, Polonara and Micic's points brought the score to 16-7 at 3:30 and the visiting team's timeout came. We brought the score to 18-13 in the fifth minute with Micic's basket on the return from the time-out. In the second five minutes of the quarter, Elijah scored three points and Zizic scored two points and we were leading 23-21 in the first 10 minutes of the game. We started the second period with Beaubois' mid-range hit: 25-21. After Zizic's under-the-rim shot, we brought the score to 33-24 in the 14th minute with three-pointers from Micic and M'Baye. At this minute, after the break from the visiting team, we increased the lead to double digits with Clyburn in the 15th minute: 36-24. While M'Baye contributed to the score with consecutive points in this section, we finished the first half of the game ahead 46-36 after Micic's basket.
Our first points in the second half came from M'Baye and Micic and we brought the score to 52-44 in the 23rd minute. After Pleiss' stylish dunk, Micic scored another basket and we were ahead 56-50 in the 25th minute. In the remaining part of our team, which had difficulty in finding a score at these minutes, Taylor scored a basket and we were behind 58-64 in the last 10 minutes of the match. Our first hit in the final period came with Clyburn behind the three-point line and the score was 61-68 in the 32nd minute. The score was 64-68 in the 33rd minute as M'Baye turned Beaubois' defensive rebound into a three-pointer. We tied the score at 35:30 with Clyburn's four and Elijah's two points: 70-70. After the opposing team's field goal, we took the lead again in the 37th minute with Clyburn's three-pointer: 73-72. In the last 46 seconds of the match, our team was down 73-78 in the score, while Beaubois's three-pointer narrowed the gap to two points: 76-78. Although we got a basket with Beaubois in the remaining part, we could not take the lead and we were defeated 78-83.
