Hosting the Russian side CSKA Moscow in the third week match of Euroleague Top 16, Anadolu Efes was defeated 78-69. Anadolu Efes was trailing 34-32 at the halftime of the match, played at Abdi İpekçi Arena.
Starting the match with Heurtel, Janning, Cedi, Saric and Krstic, Anadolu Efes got its first field goal by Cedi. With Saric’s scoring, the team was ahead 7-2 at 3.30. After Saric scored the first points of the second half to tie the game, Anadolu Efes couldn’t prevent the opponent’s scoring run, and was trailing 43-34 in the 23rd minute. Making it 39-43 in the 26th minute after Perperoglou’s three-pointer and Krstic’s layup, the team was trailing 49-44 in the 26th minute after Saric’s five points. Tying the game at 49 with Perperoglou’s five points with 1.40 left to the end of the quarter, Anadolu Efes got two accurate free throws by Bjelica in the remaining duration, and was trailing 54-51 at the end of the third quarter. Scoreless in the first 1.30 of the final quarter, Anadolu Efes got two accurate free throws by Lasme, making it 53-55. Trailing 64-59 in the 36th minute after Bjelica and Perperoglou’s points, the team got five points with Draper, bringing the score deficit down to two points in the 37th minute and forcing the opponent to call a timeout: 64-66. After the timeout, Heurtel was called a technical foul, and the score was 64-69 in the 38th minute. Despite scoring with Cedi and Draper, Anadolu Efes was unable to reclaim the lead in the remaining duration, and left the court defeated 78-69.
