Turkey’s biggest fruit company Anadolu Etap and the basketball pioneer Anadolu Efes Sports Club joined power for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague’s social responsibility program “One Team”, targeting the guest laborers’ children’s education and to continue their developing. In the program content, 61 MİÇO kids those finished their education and aged between 10-14 have taken their certificates from the Anadolu Group Chairman of the Board and Anadolu Efes Sports Club CEO Tuncay Özilhan’s hand at the ceremony on July 21st in the Anadolu Etap’s Balıkesir Tahirova farm.
Started off to execute the biggest fruit growing project, Anadolu Etap brought Anadolu Efes Sports Club, that always values the social responsibility projects and MİÇOs together in Balıkesir Tahirova farm. Anadolu Efes Sports Club, that is educating MİÇOs via the Turkish Airlines Euroleague’s social responsibility project called “One Team” within the months June and July, has added value and new ability through basketball to the children who change their locations seasonably with their families.
MİÇOs, aged between 10-14, have taken their certificates and medals after finishing the 8-week education from Anadolu Group Chairman of the Board and Anadolu Efes Sports Club CEO Tuncay Özilhan’s hand at the special organization at the July 21.
Tuncay Özilhan stated that he is very fond of the collaboration between two Anadolu Group companies Anadolu Etap and Anadolu Efes Sports Club for the Euroleague’s social responsibility program “One Team”. Özilhan; “We have insisted upon the motto of using whatever we earned from Anatolia, again to this land’s development as the Anadolu Group. As the group, we are giving support to; 41 years of sports, 38 years of education and health, 35 years of agriculture, 30 years of cinema, 25 years of theater, 10 years of tourism. We targeted to create a value through basketball to the lives of guest laborers’ children in Anadolu Etap’s farms. I, especially care about youngsters to meet with sports in the early ages. I would like this 61 MİÇOs those finished their education within this program to continue to play basketball, and remember the sacrifices that will be made for it will have a positive return. Who knows, maybe NBA stars will come out from these shining youngsters those taken their certificates today.”.
Anadolu Efes Sports Club General Director Alper Yılmaz also stated his thoughts about the project and the One Team program that happened through collaboration with Anadolu Etap as:
“Our club that has the biggest share to create a love to basketball and spread it to masses in Turkey, also directing country’s sports with the social responsibility projects that we value as much as the sportive achievements. As one of Anadolu Group’s social establishments our institutional structure and consistent work let us have the motto to benefit the society for 41 years with the social responsibility projects we manage. In the 2016-17 season, we have had a collaboration with Koruncuk Foundation for our first One Team project, then our second project was made with the collaboration with one of the Anadolu Group companies; Anadolu Etap.
We have given social abilities through basketball metaphors to the Anadolu Etap’s Balıkesir and Çanakkale fruit farm guest laborers’ children. We were the only Turkish nominee for the 2016-17 season Euroleague One Team Program Awards Best 5 Projects with the Euroleague One Team MİÇO and Koruncuk Foundation projects that made us, our sportsmen, coaches, supporters and most of us happy.
After this happy news, we would like to thank to our Club Chairman Dear Tuncay Özilhan and to all of our guests who did not leave us alone today for the One Team Program Certificate Ceremony we made in Anadolu Etap’s Balıkesir farm One Team. We will continue to benefit the society with our social responsibility projects in the 2017-2018 season, as always, as the Anadolu Efes Sports Club.”
Anadolu Etap General Manager Demir Şarman, who mentioned that they have broken a ground within the agriculture industry with MİÇO projects in Turkey stated his thoughts as;
“As Anadolu Etap, we are seeing our activities as an entirely social, economical, and we see environmental sustainability as one of our most important values. Through these values, we make our biggest investment to the soil, our farmers, and their children, so to our future. We put; the womanly labor force to increase the contribution to our country’s economy, to increase the state of life, education and work, to invest in our children non-stop and rural development in all the dorms, to our basic priorities. We were part of One Team Project through the collaboration with Anadolu Efes Sports Club this year and we gave new perspectives to 61 children through basketball in our farm those continue their education in the kindergarten we have opened. I thank everyone those worked hard in this project and congratulate all children those taken their certificates today.”
Şarman has mentioned, as the Turkey’s biggest fruit company, that they are working to give education, new abilities and continuing development to the seasonal agricultural labourer children (MİÇO); “We are proud to be the first agriculture company to open up their own kindergarten in the farm and giving non-stop education to 150 kids in 2015, 155 in 2016 and 160 in 2017. Our MİÇOs have met with basketball through Anadolu Efes Sports Club and One Team Project. They have experienced sports that strengthen the team spirit and clinching unity and gained new abilities.”

Anadolu Efes Sports Club practiced the 2016-2017 season, youngsters’ education and sports work in Anadolu Etap’s Balıkesir and Çanakkale farms for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague’s social responsibility program “One Team”, that aim to improve the dorms through basketball. Efes has educated the MİÇOs for 8 weeks throughout June and July, with basketball metaphors, about concentration, making a fast and right decision, eye contact and importance of a conversation, personal ability development, sports culture, fast problem solving, keeping a healthy diet and being a team.
