
Before the start of the game, moment of silence was observed in memory of Mr. Kamil Yazıcı, one of the founders and honorary presidents of the Anadolu Group, who passed away in recent days. Our players appeared on court with black bands on their jerseys.
Our team started the game with the lineup of Weiler-Babb, Dozier, Loyd, Ercan and Poirier and the first basket of the game came from Ercan. In the opening minutes, we scored through Dozier and tied the game at 12-12 by the fifth minute. In the second five-minute part of the quarter, we scored in the paint with Jones and Ercan and from beyond the three-point line with Lee and Swider, finishing the first 10 minutes of the game ahead 22-19. We began the second period with points from Lee and Dozier and entered the 14th minute with a 28-25 lead. During this stretch, our team knocked down three-pointers with Swider and baskets from Poirier and Lee in the final minute of the second quarter set the halftime score at 43-35.
We opened the second half with points from Ercan and Poirier and pushed the lead into double digits in the 25th minute: 50-40. As Ercan continued to score and Şehmus and Loyd added to the offense, we led 60-42 by the 28th minute. In the remaining minutes of the quarter, we added one basket each through Jones and Loyd and entered the final 10 minutes of the game with a 64-45 advantage. In the final period, our first points came from Şehmus and we made it 69-47 at the start of the 33rd minute. With back-to-back baskets from Lee, the score moved to 78-51 in the 36th minute. Following that, 10 points from Swider helped us extend the lead to 88-57 by the 39th minute. After Lee’s three-pointer, we closed out the game with a 91-60 victory.
