In Round 30 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, we hosted France’s LDLC Asvel Villeurbanne and lost the game 91-88. We also finished the first half trailing 49-47 in the game played at the Turkcell Basketball Development Center.

Our team started the game with the lineup of Loyd, Weiler-Babb, Dozier, Ercan and Poirier. Our first points came from Weiler-Babb, giving us a 3-0 lead in the opening minute. The visiting team responded and we answered through Poirier and Jones as the sixth minute passed with the score at 7-15. After Ercan converted two free throws and Şehmus added to the scoring, the score became 14-23 in the ninth minute. In the final minute of the quarter, we scored two points through Jones and three through Lee, but we ended the first 10 minutes trailing 26-19. We began the second quarter with points from Lee and Ercan and the score was 31-23 in favor of the visitors in the 12th minute. Following Dozier’s impressive dunk, we scored through Lee and Şehmus to make it 32-36 in the 15th minute. Lee’s layup and two three-pointers from Smits tied the game at 40-40 with 2:30 left in the quarter. Swider’s impressive dunk put us back in front at 42-40 in the 18th minute. In the remaining two minutes, we added points through Dozier and Lee, but we went into halftime trailing 49-47.

We started the second half with a three-pointer from Loyd to regain the lead at 50-49 in the 21st minute. With points from Weiler-Babb and Poirier, the score stood at 58-54 for the visitors in the 25th minute. Baskets by Loyd and Cordinier made it 58-62 in the 28th minute. In the final two minutes of the quarter, Jones and Lee each added two points and we entered the final 10 minutes trailing 68-62. In the final period, our first points came from Şehmus, making it 64-68 in the 31st minute. After Dozier and Jones each made one free throw, points from Smits and Weiler-Babb brought the score to 74-77 in the 35th minute. Following four points from Lee, Şehmus and Smits each made one free throw and we trailed 83-80 with three minutes remaining. Two three-pointers from Şehmus cut the deficit to one point at 86-87 with 1:30 left to play. Although we scored once more through Şehmus in the remaining time, we could not take the lead and lost the game 91-88.
