We hosted Pınar Karşıyaka in the first match of the ING Basketball Super League play-off and we won the match 90-66. We were ahead 43-30 in the first half of the match played at Sinan Erdem Dome.
After this result, we took a 1-0 lead in the series. The second match of the series will be played on Friday, May 13 in Izmir. If we win this match, we will advance to the semi-finals in the play-offs.
Our team went into the game with Larkin, Buğrahan, Anderson, Moerman, and Pleiss starting five, and we were ahead 5-2 in the first minute with Buğrahan's five points. Larkin and Anderson's three-pointers were also followed by Pleiss by four points in the paint, leading us 15-10 into the television time-out in the fifth minute. After the time-out, we scored three points with Buğrahan and four points with Pleiss in the second five-minute part of the quarter, and we were ahead 22-17 in the first 10 minutes of the game. We started the second period with Anderson's three-pointer, leading 25-19 in the 11th minute. After Yiğitcan’s under-the-rim basket, Anderson found another three-pointer and brought the score to 30-21 in the 12th minute. In this episode, we hit the foul line twice with Dunston and Erten, and at 14:30 we increased the lead to double digits for the first time in the game: 34-23. Elijah also contributed to Dunston and Anderson's points in the rest of the period with a three-pointer in the last second, and the first half of the game ended with a 43-30 lead.
We started the second half with Larkin's five points, leading by 16 points in the 21st minute: 48-32. After Moerman's three-pointer, Larkin, who did not slow down, scored five more points and we were ahead 56-35 in the 25th minute. We were ahead 61-39 in the 27th minute with Buğrahan's points, and after the points from Anderson and Elijah in the last part of the quarter, we entered the last 10 minutes of the game with a 65-43 lead. Our first points in the final period came from Erten and we brought the score to 68-45 in the 32nd minute. After the hits from Ömercan and Anderson, the score came to 73-47 at 33:30. With the points of Egemen and Erten, our team brought the score to 78-51 in the 35th minute. In the last part of the match, we scored with our young players Yiğitcan, Ömercan, and Erten and we won the match 90-66.
