Playing on the road against Telekom at the 30th and final week match-up of Turkish Basketball League, Anadolu Efes won the game 88-67. Anadolu Efes was ahead 55-29 at the halftime of the match, played at Ankara Arena.
With this result, Efes concluded the regular season in the second spot, matching up with the seventh-ranked Telekom in the play-off quarter finals.
Starting the match with Doğuş, Janning, Perperoglou, Saric and Lasme, Anadolu Efes got the first field goal of the match by Doğuş. With two accurate free throws by Saric followed by Lasme’s slam dunk, Efes was leading 6-0 after the first minute. Making it 10-0 with Perperoglou, Efes continued to score with Doğuş and Saric, leading 14-5 at 3.20. With more points by Perperoglou, Efes pulled up 24-9 in the sixth minute, forcing the opponent to call a timeout. Getting five more points with Perperoglou after the timeout, Efes was leading 28-11. Scoring with Birkan in the final minute of the quarter, Anadolu Efes was ahead 31-14 after the first 10 minutes of the game. As Krstic scored our first field goal in the second quarter, the score was 33-16 in favor of Anadolu Efes in the 11th minute. Ahead 36-18 with Birkan’s three pointer, Efes was leading 38-23 in the 14th minute after Saric’s field goal. Leading 43-22 while heading into the 15th minute following Krstic and Perperoglou’s field goals, Efes had two consecutive three pointers by Birkan, leading 49-22 at the end of the 16th minute. Responding to the opponent’s field goal with Perperoglou’s three, Efes was leading 52-26 with three minutes to play in the half. Getting a three pointer by Doğuş in the remaining duration, Anadolu Efes was ahead 55-29 while heading into the locker room for the halftime.
In the second half, with Cenk going onto the court after his injury, Janning scored our first field goal: 57-29. Leading 69-33 while passing through the 23rd minute with two three-point field goals each by Cenk and Janning, Efes had a layup by Saric, ahead 71-33 at 24.20. Ahead 73-36 with Cenk, Efes got another field goal by Draper within the final minute of the quarter, leading 75-46 while heading into the final 10 minutes of the match. As Krstic scored our first field goal in the final quarter, Efes was leading 82-52 in the 34th minute with Saric and Perperoglou’s points. With the score 82-59 after seven points by the opponent, coach Ivkovic called a timeout in the 35th minute. Getting six more points by Saric, Janning and Deniz in the final moments of the game, Anadolu Efes won the match 88-67.
