Defeating Gaziantep 77-67 at the 16th week match of Turkish Basketball League, Anadolu Efes coach Dusan Ivkovic stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:
“The match against Gaziantep was really crucial for us. We lost three games in a row within six days. The last of those three was the horrible loss against Nizhny Novgorod. Therefore, we prepared very diligently against Gaziantep. After a very short time following Nizhny Novgorod, we have played against Gaziantep, a team built on very experienced players. Gaziantep plays well and keeps the game under control. The opponent scored a 7-0 run to start the game. We, on the other hand, missed our free throws and failed to capitalize on easy fast-break shots in the first quarter. We need to better control the game. We had ups and downs today. Afterwards, we managed to recover. We will play in the Euroleague on Thursday against Olympiacos – a very critical match. We have to be ready in terms of mental condition. We will maintain our intense preparations starting from tomorrow. I am delighted that we have no injuries. From now on, I believe that we will gain momentum and step up as a team. Under these conditions, we need to do better...”
Anadolu Efes’s young talent Cedi also stated his thoughts: “First of all, I would like to congratulate Gaziantep. They fought very well. The game was really crucial for us. We lost three significant matches in the last week. The match against Nizhny Novgorod was a bitter defeat. Today, we played well and won the game. Now, we want to prepare as best as we can for Olympiacos and win that game...”
