Defeated by TED Kolej 81-73 at the 22nd week match of Turkish Basketball League, Anadolu Efes coach Dusan Ivkovic stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:
“We did not perform well today. TED Kolej deserved to win the match. They played better than us. This is very apparently seen on the stats sheet. We have been having problems with our defense recently. We had a defensive showing that was not expected to happen, especially at home. Our opponent had 64 percent two-point and 52 percent three-point percentages. And we are not supposed to play on this rhythm, either. We are playing in two very important contests: the Euroleague and the Turkish Basketball League. We have three significant injuries. Krstic and Furkan did not play due to their injuries, and Lasme played with a mask even though he had an injury. Injuries should not be an excuse since we have 14 players in our roster. I am deeply sorry about today’s result. I would like to apologize our fans. From now on, fighting is our only option. Two days later, we will play a very important match against Nizhny Novgorod – it can very well turn into a breaking point. We have to prepare as good as we can for this game...”
Anadolu Efes’s young talent Cedi Osman also stated his thoughts: “First of all, I would like to congratulate TED Kolej. They played good basketball and managed to win the game today. Frankly, we did not play well from the first quarter. We didn’t have a lot of energy, and we were defeated. Although the scoring margin went up during the first two quarter, we managed to bring it down to one point at the end of the first half. However, the opponent increased the lead again with points in the second half – they played a good game, and they won. We now have to concentrate on the match against Nizhny Novgorod in the Euroleague. We want to prepare as best as we can, and win that game...”
