Defeating Telekom 87-77 at the seventh week match of Spor Toto Basketball League, Anadolu Efes coach Dusan Ivkovic stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:
“It was a very good game today, well suited to the quality of the league. However, I can’t say we are very satisfied. Our first quarter performance was fascinating, and we missed only two shots in the quarter. We scored 39 points in 10 minutes with 7/8 two pointers, 7/8 three pointers and 4/5 free throws. Our objective before the match was superior control and good defense. However, we couldn’t reach that goal. The opponent managed to outscore us in every quarter after the first. Our transition defense was pretty bad today. We will play another three matches in six days. We now need to prepare for the match against EA Milano at the Euroleague this week. We need to keep working a lot...”
Efes’s young talent Furkan Korkmaz also stated his thoughts: “Today, we were well-concentrated on the match as a team. We acted as a whole on the court. The only negative aspect was our failure to extend our good performance to the whole 40 minutes. We played badly in the third quarter, allowing Telekom to get back into the game. Still, we won the game and the key was our ability to act as a whole...”
