“It was a very difficult game. First of all, I would like to congratulate my team. We are a team of young players. Besides our young players, it was our first time going on the court with a new playmaker. We were pretty bad in the first half, but we recovered in the second half and found the rhythm. We won by fighting till the last ball. As can be seen, basketball never comes to an end. It goes on till the very last ball. This is so nice. On the other side, my team was not physically ready. We had a lot of turnovers and failed to find the rhythm. We got only two points in the first seven minutes of the first quarter. This was a problem. Beşiktaş is a very good team. They had a great start to the match, and one of the things that made the game hard for us was their strong defense. We had a fairly balanced game in the second half, as we found our rhythm especially in offense. Matt Janning didn’t get any points today, but I’m very proud of his effort in defense. The opponent grabbed 14 offensive rebounds in the second half. This gave them lots of opportunities at the end of the game. As a team, we have to work more on the final moments and pay more effort to become a better team.

We have a challenging schedule ahead of us. We won two very difficult games in a row, against Laboral Kutxa and Beşiktaş. We will now be playing against Unicaja Malaga on Friday in the Euroleague. We have to prepare as good as we can for this game.

Anadolu Efes’s young talent Furkan Korkmaz also stated his thoughts: “Any road game against Beşiktaş is a tough one. Teams coming here should know that beforehand. We were aware that the match would be very hard. We had a tough game against Laboral Kutxa on the road in the Euroleague. Just like in that match, we had a bad start in this one. But still, we did our comeback by making use of match-winning balls. I would like to congratulate Beşiktaş. They fought well. We will be playing against Unicaja Malaga in the Euroleague. We will do our best to prepare well for that game.”
