Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman, who faced Tofaş in the 11th week of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League and won the match 84-76, shared his views after the game:
“After a tough double match week in EuroLeague, we arrived in Istanbul yesterday evening. We played this game for 24 hours. We rested some of our players, we did not play Vasilije Micic. Actually, we were planning to play most of this match with our local players, but we could not bear to lose. We had to play Will Clyburn for most of the second half. This was not our plan. League matches are not easy, and the two top scorers of Tofaş team did not play due to injury. It was a good fight, we managed to win at the end of the match with our experience. While we make great efforts during the EuroLeague double match week, our opponents who do not play in the league during the week or play a single match are putting a lot of pressure on us. We had a hard time today. The heart desires that players who can't get a lot of time in the EuroLeague drag such league matches, it used to be like this in Anadolu Efes. Unfortunately, we cannot receive contributions from these players at the moment, we would have lost today if we played like this. That's why we put Clyburn into the game in the second half, we played mainly foreigners. We also won the game.”
