
Our starting five was Larkin, Weiler-Babb, Cordinier, Smits, and Ercan. Our first points came from Larkin and Ercan, as we trailed 10-7 in the third minute. With points from Weiler-Babb and Larkin, we took the lead for the first time in the sixth minute: 17-16. After Swider’s three-pointer made it 20-18 in our favor in the seventh minute, Loyd contributed four points in the remaining three minutes, and we finished the first quarter behind 28-24. We opened the second quarter with a three-pointer by Loyd, bringing the score to 27-28 in the 11th minute. With baskets from Cordinier, Weiler-Babb and Smits, the score was tied at 35-35 in the 15th minute. In the second five minutes of the half, Dessert scored twice in the paint and Larkin added two three-pointers, as we went into halftime trailing 48-45.
In the second half, we tied the game at 48-48 with a three-pointer from Ercan on our first possession. Following Larkin’s layup, baskets from Weiler-Babb and Smits made it 60-64 in the 25th minute. With three-pointers from Larkin and Ercan, we trailed 70-66 in the 26th minute. After Dessert’s points inside, Larkin made two and Şehmus added one from the free throw line, and we entered the final 10 minutes trailing 76-73. In the final quarter, our first points came from Dessert and Smits in the paint: 77-83. After Ercan’s layup and a three-pointer by Weiler-Babb, we trailed 86-82 in the 34th minute. We couldn’t score in the next four minutes, and the score became 82-96 in the 38th minute. Although we added points through Larkin and Ercan in the closing moments, we couldn’t close the gap and lost the game 99-89.
