We led from start to finish and went into halftime ahead 42-36. Our effective play in the second half sealed a 15-point win.

The MVP of the game was Matthew Strazel, with 19 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and a 22 PIR!

Here are the post-game remarks from our head coach, Pablo Laso:

"First, I want to congratulate my players on the victory. I think it was well deserved from the start. Seeing the scoreboard after the first quarter, 12-21, gave us a lot of confidence in the game. We were able to control the situations that hurt us in the past; defensive rebounds and turnovers. Today we were solid in both. We had only 12 turnovers, and we won the rebounding battle against a very physical team.

We stepped up defensively very well, understanding their strong points, the guys who can score, and how to defend a big man like Jonas Valančiūnas, helping each other. That made our job easier offensively; moving the ball, sharing the ball, and finding the open player.

I’m happy with the victory, but we’re at the beginning of the season. It’s hard to believe, because it feels like a long time ago, but the season started only 20 days ago. We have a long way to go, but for sure, we’re happy with the victory."
