Defeating Darüşşafaka 88-73 at the semi finals of Royal Halı Turkish Cup to reach the finals, Anadolu Efes coach Dusan Ivkovic stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:
“It was a very challenging game today. My team was better today compared to yesterday. The cup is mentally different, so the feelings can change. We had 18 turnovers yesterday, 11 by our big men. We worked on that in today morning’s training. Our players implemented those really well. We did some mistakes on defense in the first half. Darüşşafaka had 45 points in 20 minutes. In the second half, we were great on defense. Our one-on-one and two-on-two defense was fantastic. The only negative aspect of today’s game were the 20 offensive rebounds we allowed. Our team play was excellent. Heurtel scored only three points today, but he also made seven assists, playing a significant role to help his team keep the game under control. We are in the finals now. We will have time tomorrow to prepare for the final game. Sunday will be a feast for Turkish basketball...”
Anadolu Efes’s Birkan Batuk also stated his thoughts at the press conference: “We played an important game today. It was a game of make or break, just like yesterday. We knew it would be a hard match. However, we did excellent defense especially in the third quarter. We played solid, breaking the opponent’s will. We are happy to be on the winning side. On Sunday, we will play a very important match. We had lost the Turkish cup in the final the last year. Now, we want to win the cup. I hope we will be on the winning side on Sunday...”
