Head coach Ergin Ataman of Anadolu Efes, who lost 85-94 away from Real Madrid in the seventh week of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, shared his views after the game as follows:
"Our defense was very soft in the first half. We did not react one-on-one, we let them score in all the pick-n-rolls. We gave control of the match to Real Madrid. It is unacceptable for us to score 54 points in a half at this level. I think we played better in the second half. We fought, and my team fought. We defended ourselves. We packed up and came back to the game. We narrowed the lead down to two points with a short five in the last quarter. Some of our key players who put a lot of effort into this section had easy turnovers. Not so easy. We gave control of the game back to the opponent in the final moments of the match. It was a good game. Congratulations to Real Madrid. We will continue to fight, we will face Barcelona at home next week."
