Ataman: “We have to change our mindset…”

Defeated by Panathinaikos Opap 70-86 in the 6th-week road match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts post-game:

“It is tough to play against Panathinaikos on the road game. They needed to win this game; we were more relaxed because we won the match two days ago. Some of my players fought well, but for me, lack of fighting and behavior on the court of some of my players is unacceptable. It is disrespectfulness towards their fellow players those fight. We shot bad shots tonight; we have 30 three-pointer shots. Micic and Simon scored one basket from 15 three-pointer shots. Our playmaker had seven turnovers. It is unacceptable for a player who was selected as MVP two days ago to have seven turnovers and 0/6 field goals for me. We are at the beginning of Euroleague yet, and the league is tough this year. Everyone can beat anyone. We have to change our mindset because we will play six more times in the double week. Panathinaikos played very well, especially Rice and Papapetrou, were excellent.”
