Ataman: “Our Fans Were Amazing…”

After defeating AX Armani Exchange Milan 77-65 in the 3rd game of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague play-offs, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman shared his views as follows:

“As I said after the second game, our fans were incredible. I thank them very much. If we played in a football stadium in Istanbul, then all the tickets would be sold. Tickets sold out a month in advance, and the atmosphere was great. They've helped us stay in the game and upped our defensive toughness. Perhaps more importantly, they kept Larkin in the game for 40 minutes. He couldn't find his rhythm for 30 minutes, but he loves this atmosphere. He is a champion. We had a lot of problems on offense tonight, we couldn't catch up with our pace. We missed a lot of shots, we missed a lot of shots in the last moments with Micic and Moerman. We couldn't find our own game. Once again, we accepted the game of AX Armani Exchange Milan. We gave Milan a lot of rebounds. They scored 15 points from offensive rebounds. It was a real playoff game. Congratulations to AX Armani Exchange Milan. We played great defense in the last quarter. Larkin also played the end of the match great. Our opponent has injured players, but Beaubois and Simon's injuries have recurred in our team as well. We can say that the conditions are equal.”
