Anadolu Efes, which will play its 669th game in the EuroLeague, where it has competed since the 2001-02 season, has recorded 350 wins and 318 losses in 668 games in the competition to date.
Anadolu Efes and Olympiacos have faced each other 57 times in European competitions, with our team recording 28 wins and 29 losses. In the four games between the two teams in FIBA competitions, our team has one win and three losses, while in 53 EuroLeague games, we have 27 wins and 26 losses.
Having faced Real Madrid and then Crvena Zvezda in a double-game week, our team now takes on Olympiacos in Round 4.
Our head coach Pablo Laso's pre-game remarks:
Olympiacos against Anadolu Efes games are always classic. We will face the EuroLeague champions, a team that, has improved at every position, adding Codi Miller-McIntyre and Jean Montero to the point guard rotation.
They have great depth in their rotation and still retain some of what Georgios Bartzokas introduced, with Sasha Vezenkov often as the first option. Still, they also have outstanding scorers like Tyler Dorsey and Evan Fournier. That is probably why they are champions.
We have to understand that this will be a difficult game for us, and we must play very well for 40 minutes if we really want a chance to beat them on the court.
Our player Matthes Strazel's pre-game remarks:
Obviously, a tough road game awaits us against Olympiacos. Mike James' injury has certainly affected us, but we will fight for him, for ourselves and for our fans, no matter what. I know everyone on this team can step up to help us reach our goals, because it is still the same group of players. We are heading to Athens with ambition, and we want to keep building toward what comes next.
