Ergin Ataman: “It is tough to win a match scoring 64 points…”

Defeated by Barcelona 64-76 in the first match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

"It was an awful night for us. We’ve played bad basketball. We didn’t show the existence in the especially first half’s offense. They’ve stopped Micic with Hanga and defended our pick and roll. In the second half of the match, Micic remembered our game and started to score, prepare positions. We’ve had many chances to catch Barcelona, but we’ve missed our chances. We’ve passed up 29 three-pointers throughout the match, many of them were open shots. Eventually, we failed to find our offense rhythm. I believe that we’ve stuck on 64 points in our home for the first time in a long time, we usually play with 84 points average at home, it is tough to win a match scoring 64 points, we were good on defense, but Mirotic made a difference. Congratulations to Barcelona. We will start to prepare for the second week.”
